THE MOST PRIVATE ISLAND
A swirl of turquoise and aquamarine lagoons cradle Gladden, an island fringed with coral and white sand in the heart of the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System. This island jewel harbors your own private sanctuary, a casually elegant villa designed for just one couple, with the all-inclusive service of a luxury resort. There is a second master suite should you wish to share Gladden with friends or family. Our staff resides unseen on the smaller island behind Gladden, ready to respond to any request at a moment's notice. A "privacy meter" indicates if a member of the team is on the main island for any reason, because we want our guests to feel free to be themselves. There are no other neighbors – it's just you and the views.
THE GLADDEN VILLA
While you're ensconced in our casually luxurious 3,000-square-foot villa, you'll never spot a neighbor. But you will be greeted with stunning views from every room. Stand in the entryway and let your eyes wander across the swimming pool to the coral reef beyond. Slip into the master suite, a soothing enclave of dark woods complemented by wide windows overlooking the ocean. Climb to the roof terrace to soak up the sun and bask in the panorama of aquamarine lagoons as far as the eye can see. The villa was built for two, but a second master bedroom can comfortably accommodate another couple should you decide that such dazzling beauty deserves to be shared.

Gladden's managing couple, Johann and Toni, love to help guests create memories to last a lifetime, and have honed their respective skills as captain and chef on yachts and in exclusive villas across the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Pacific. Their history of dedicated, flexible service perfectly positions this attentive, enthusiastic duo to cater to Gladden's visitors, ensuring a magical stay. Johann's superlative skills as a yacht captain make him the ideal host for snorkeling and scuba excursions to the surrounding reefs and beyond. Toni's delectable global cuisine made from fresh local ingredients melds with her flair for design into island meals that are a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Johann and Toni reside in their private residence located on our support island, out of sight but just the push of a call button away.

YOUR PRIVATE PLAYGROUND
Belize is home to the longest barrier reef system in the Northern and Western Hemispheres, and its stunning central section lies right in our back yard. Snorkeling merely requires a few fin kicks from the beach outside your villa, or let your island host arrange a trip to nearby Gladden Spit and the Silk Cayes Marine Reserve for some of the best scuba diving in the world. From April through June, whale sharks congregate in this protected area, offering the rare chance to swim with these gentle giants, the largest fish in the sea. Outside of the marine preserve, spear fishing and deep-sea fishing are available.
VISIT NEIGHBOURING ISLANDS
A great way to cruise and explore the inner Barrier Reef. Stop at nearby private island establishments and enjoy cold drinks and great food. Gladden lies directly on the edge of the widest and most picturesque section of the Belize Barrier Reef in the Caribbean sea. It is the longest reef in the Western Hemisphere and the 2nd largest in the World. Located 20 miles off the coast of Placencia, Belize, Gladden is the furthest island out from the mainland and closest to the protected side of the reef where the water is calm and clear. The magical "Gladden Split" where the whale sharks congregate once a year is a mere few miles away. This is one of the most beautiful locations in the World.

A Gladden representative will meet you at customs and take you directly to the helicopter where you will be whisked away over the Belize Barrier Reef and land directly on Gladden 35-40 minutes later. This is truly an amazing experience and will save you a few hours of travelling.
Maya Air:
Your regional flights from Belize City to Placencia are included in the rate and booked through us. When you arrive in Placencia you will be escorted by a Gladden representative directly to Gladden by speed boat which takes between 40 and 50 minutes.
